Augmented reality (AR) is the integration of digital information with live video or the user’s environment in real time. Basically, AR takes an existing picture and blends new information into it. One of the first commercial applications of AR technology can be seen on football telecasts where they augment the reality by overlaying zone lines (AFL) or in the US the yellow first downline in televised football games. Basically overlaying virtual information onto a current reality.
oneVR has been developing augmented reality applications since 2012. They too have endless possibilities to better allow users to engage with environments to interact with virtual information. This can be seeing property before it’s built, directions to a location or animations to highlight a promotion.
